Review of The Young Victoria (2009) by Ryan G — 08 May 2010
This movie educated me, a welcome rarity. Usually period pieces superimpose 21st century forwardness onto what we can only assume to be authentic costumes and accents. Not this flick. The tension in this movie gets stretched, moves in several directions, and doesn't seem to find relief proportionally.
But it does give insight into a historical character I would otherwise have not encountered on a date night.
