About 1,000 times better than Bright Star and Coco Before Chanel (other films nominated in the costume cateogry), this film mostly captures your interest because you probably don't know jack squat about Queen Victoria before she was an old recluse.
Film really doesn't know where to go in the last 15 minutes or so, but the journey to get to that point is well-acted. Perhaps too much about the queen and less about the times, but you can't have it all.
