Review of The Young Messiah (2016) by Movie M — 17 Jul 2016
Yet another religious movie in 2016, however this one proves different than the others. Rather than focusing on the later years of Jesus and His crucifixion, it focuses on the youth of Jesus, and how He figured out that He was much different than other people.
While the plot and premise is somewhat unique (though the message that it portrays is very similar to any other religious movie), "The Young Messiah" fails to keep your attention, and is way too long.
It feels like scenes are repeated, just with a different setting and with different dialogue. The scenes that are supposed to be captivating, and inspiring don't come off well, mainly because of the bad pacing that it has.
"The Young Messiah" is a movie that you may see bits and pieces at church, but is not worth watching in entirety on your own time.
