Review of The Young Messiah (2016) by Chris F — 17 Jul 2016
The Young Messiah is a dull and boring movie that doesn't bring anything new to the table. The performances are fine. The young boy who plays Jesus is fine. So is Sean Bean. The villain overacts in every scene.
The production design is good. But the plot is extremely dull. You know how the story will end. There is no mystery or suspense. There isn't any tension in the film. Also, the directing and editing were off.
There was too much shaky-cam. Also, there were many strange camera angles in the film. The film is poorly edited It is edited sloppily. The script is alright. There are a couple of moments where cheesy dialogue is present, but other than that it's fine.
Overall, there are many worse Christian films out there. Still, the film is very boring and is poorly made.
