Review of The Young Lions (1958) by Vincent G — 15 Apr 2014
An interesting film for many reasons, the come back to the screen of montgomery clift after his accident, the controversial script (adaptated from the controversial novel of the same name, and one of Marlon brando's best performances in all his career.
Critics and moviegoers alike were negative towards Brando's performance as German officer Christian diestl at that time, now that performance is considered a landmark in acting, mostly because of brando coloring his hair from its natural color to blond and the fatal end of his character in this movie.
Montgomery clift was/is brilliant as always.
