Review of The Year of Living Dangerously (1982) by Codie E — 14 Oct 2008
Dripping with autenticity and vibrancy, Weir's film is an incredible insight into political unrest from a journalist's point of view. The chemistry between Mel Gibson's Guy Hamilton and Linda Hunt's Billy Kwan is remarkable, both giving possibly the performances of their careers.
My only quibble is how much enphasis is put into the romantic story line, but this is only because of the strength of the rest and can easily be forgiven in light of the power and emotional punch the film has.
