Review of The Year of Living Dangerously (1982) by Tim S — 25 Feb 2012
It's kinda hard to watch St. Mel back in his early days. He was on his way to being a true acting talent and then fell off the deep end. This movie is about a reporter who covers the political upheaval in the mid-60's in Indonesia.
St. Mel does a good job, but it's Linda Hunt, playing a man, who steals the show, which is why she won an Oscar for her role. Her or his character, I should stay, is the heart of the story. As for Sigourney Weaver, her character is just a glorified cameo whose only purpose is for a little romance with St.
Mel.
