Review of The Year My Parents Went on Vacation (2006) by Sean W — 09 Aug 2008
A very touching movie where the characters came across as real flesh and blood people rather than stereotypes. How many times (especially in foreign films) have we seen movies where an older person is forced to bond with a child, and we watch as their friendship grows stronger? This film proves that it's material that can be explored further without feeling like run-of-the-mill.
One extra note (that has no bearing on the film)...I really loved the way the ending credits flowed across instead of up the screen. Different.
