Review of The Year My Parents Went on Vacation (2006) by Richard H — 19 Dec 2008
Great recent Brazilian movie, told from the viewpoint of a Brazilian boy in 1970 whose leftist parents go into hiding under the dictatorship, only having explained to their son that they have gone on "extended vacation".
Well-acted and believable; it's a wonderful account of how a child would experience and process this sort of trauma.
