Pretty interesting but it never really went there with the story telling nor did it tell me much about that time period. The movie works well as an outline but it wasn't as compelling as I thought it would be.
While you do end up caring about the boy and the people he interacts with its more because your hoping something interesting will happen to them, which sadly never happens.
