Review of The Yakuza (1974) by Michael C — 02 Sep 2011
Can't believe I'd never seen this before..... Robert Mitchum is awesome throughout, perfectly taking on the role of the audience, as a spectator somewhat out of his depth in terms of cultural barriers. But come action time, he more than delivers, in a series of brilliantly photographed set-pieces.
A little too much overly-explanatory dialogue aside, this is bloody exciting stuff.
