Review of The Wrong Trousers (1993) by Harry F — 23 Nov 2010
This for me is the pinnacle of what made Wallace and Gromit so special. This has a brilliant combination of huge laughs, tearjerking moments and proper action to be an instant classic. The character who steals it is of course Gromit, who is truly brilliant. From his opening scene involving birthday presents, to moving out in the pouring rain, to the final train chase, he's phenomenal. There's a reason Empire named him great animated character!
The penguin is also great. He has such little expression, yet his eyes are terrifying. The highlight for me is when he pulls a gun on Grimit, as it's just such a ridiculous image. Wallace is always funny, and has more of the laugh out loud moments. All three characters are terrific. I recommend this to everybody, as, at least to me, it's a true classic.
