Review of The Wrestler (2008) by Andrew F — 21 Aug 2011
A great performance by Mickey Rourke makes The Wrestler a great movie. Yes, it will leave you depressed, but the story is so engaging and so inspirational it won't matter. My only "big" complaint is that I wish there was more wrestling actually shown, but that isn't much of a complaint.
The movie wanted to show a "real", non-sugar-coated looked at a wrestler behind the scenes and it achieved that.
