Review of The Wrestler (2008) by Mitchell R — 11 Apr 2012
A really beautiful film. Mickey Rourke is incredible, as everyone's been saying, and the movie really lets him breathe as an actor, with many scenes of silence and perceived improvisation. The conclusion is heartfelt and touching, but far from empty sentimentality.
The bittersweet ending is well-earned, and frankly, worthy of much emotional attachment. Great film.
