Review of The Wrestler (2008) by Tanner B — 04 May 2016
The Wrestler (2008) ????
Mickey Rourke gives the performance of his career playing a wrestler at the end of his rope; his distant daughter provides the only hope he has for success.
Audacious, visceral, and completely engrossing. Rourke is so good and so compelling here it's as if this one role is why he ever started worked in acting. Note: this is not sentimental-but extremely entertaining. Tomei is great, too.
