I do have a fondness for this movie in the same way that I have a fondness for Rocky movies. This was just a little bit more gritty. The hardships endured by Rourke cut to the bone more than in Rocky movies.
It also has better laughs and not quite the fairytale ending. The scenes set at work, and especially at the deli counter were the highlights for me.
