Review of The Wrestler (1971) by Brandon S — 09 Feb 2014
Such an emotional and traumatic journey for Mickey Rourke culminates with his performance of Randy "The Ram" Robinson in Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler. He definitely put his heart and soul into this one.
Every single viewing brings tears to my eyes and I am in no way ashamed to admit that. Some parts feel like the Passion of the Christ and others make you laugh. But overall this movie really moves your soul and lets you in on the mellon collie life of this down and out professional wrestler.
Great movie for those of you that question the entertainment value of wrestling. Very worthy of Best Picture and Best Actor.
