Review of The World's Greatest Lover (1977) by Christopher C — 19 Feb 2008
This is a tour de force for Wilder who wrote, directed and stars as well as wrote the title song. Filled with wonderful, hilarious comedy routines reminicent of vaudville and early comedy, it makes fun of Hollywood and the quest for stardom, while delivering a moving love story.
I can't believe hardly anyone has see this film! IMHO, it's truly a masterpiece. I've been watching it since the 70s and I still LOL and then tear up at the end.
