Review of The Woodsman (2004) by Cole B — 21 Aug 2012
This is a slightly disturbing film about a paedophile on parole (Kevin Bacon as Walter). It's certainly an engaging and brave attempt to deal with such a tricky subject matter, but I couldn't quite believe some of the circumstances Walter found himself in.
This is one area of human experience that I can't seem to muster up any sympathy for, and although Kevin bacon was extremely good in this role, his attempts to battle with his demons left me feeling largely unconcerned.
That said, fair play to Bacon for taking on such a demanding project and an impressive debut for Nicole Kassell.
