Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Jay D — 04 Aug 2015
Gahddamn I love this movie!
Martin Scorcese And Leonardo DiCaprio team up again (see: The Departed) to deliver another masterpiece.
"Wolf' is a true life story about young hotshot stockbroker Jordan Belfort, a man who does whatever it takes to make the Big Sale. All morals and ethics aside, for 7 years he was the King of Wall Street, hawking penny stocks and banking tens of Millions of $$$ in the process.
Three hours breeze by in a this non-stop whirlwind of Capitalist depravity - an ORGY of unbridled greed, money, power, lust, hot cars, sex, women, drugs, prostitutes, money, drugs, sex, lust, Greed, more money, More women, partying, yachts, helicopters, and more sex! Oh...did I mention drugs? Cocaine, crack, quaaludes... pick your poison - its all here :) And yet, somewhere in the midst of this 3-hr whirlwind of a 'fuck'-fest is a great story with heart to match. ( Seriously - the F-Bomb is dropped at LEAST 200 times).
DiCaprio and Jonah Hill have excellent comedic chemistry and light up every scene they are in, including a great casting pick of Jon Bernthal (Shane, from The Walking Dead!).
Abso-fuckin-lutely LOVE this movie! A+.
