Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Tj A — 23 Aug 2015
Shaped by the steady and deliberate hand of Scorsese it manages to be remarkably over the top. Which is good actually, because it helps to hammer home some truths about living one's life to the full.
Then again, it also kinda takes you out of the story (if you can call Belfort's expansive ego a story, that is). Also I thought it ends with more of a whimper than a bang. So it's a bit of a mixed bag, but mostly - a top-notch entertainment.
