Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Mark E — 24 Sep 2015
Wow, The Wolf on Wall Street was a no holds barred film which gave a new and refreshing light onto the subject of wall street. Martin Scorsese took so many risks with this film, from the nudity to the length, The Wolf of Wall Street was amazing and displayed true emotion.
This movie was long, at 3 hours The Wolf on Wall Street walked on a fine line of becoming full of filler, but it wasn't. When I look back on this film I couldn't cut this film down in length. For the story that they were telling every scene had a purpose, every scene needed to be in this film.
The characters and acting in this movie were amazing. There were times where I stopped looking at the actors as actors and actually saw them as their characters. This movie brought so many actors who have fallen into averageness back into the spotlight and let them shine. The adult themes in this movie was non stop but it didn't hurt this movie at all.
This movie was also funny, scenes in this movie seemed so realistic and worked so well for the most of the time. There was some comedy here and there where the comedy felt forced and halted the enjoyment of the drama but this was extremely rare.
In the end The Wolf on Wall Street was an excellent movie that worked in so many unique themes and subjects that it honestly felt like a new and original movie that danced to its own beat. The Wolf on Wall Street is a must see classic that will only grow overtime.
