Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Matthew D — 27 Dec 2014
Martin Scorcese never disappoints, this is a great addition to his filmography, a funny, smart, vulgar, chaotic and crazy roller coaster ride that will keep you entertained til the very end. Fantastic script and acting all across the board (How has Leo not gotten any Oscar?) I mean how crazy do you have to get to win one?! He is spectacular in this movie, the best performance amidst great performances.
The film is expertly directed and never has a dragging scene, your attention will always be held until the end credits. However, remember when going in that this is an R-rated movie, in fact it was almost NC-17 at one point, it is made for a mature audience.
This is a film that constantly surprises and keeps you on the edge of your seat either laughing or in awe by the sheer sight of a director who knows what he is doing and knows that he does it masterfully.
This is one of the most entertaining films I have ever seen, The Wolf of Wall Street earns 5/5 stars.
