Review of The Wolf Man (1941) by Christian B — 10 Jun 2007
The film that establishes what I call the amor de hombre-lupo dilema, in which some obnoxiously beautiful woman loves some suspicious guy, who begs her not to love him, because he is in fact a werewolf. But does she listen? Hell no. Instead she decides to wander around a dark, foggy forest at night to see what is making that howling noise...
Still a classic of the genre, and a (reverse) Oedipal tragedy Sophacles would have been jealous of.
