Review of The Wolf Man (1941) by Tommy M — 16 Feb 2010
The Universal monsters always have been the scariest, and 'The Wolf Man' is certainly no exception.
Maybe smaller budgets in the older times made it difficult to fit everything in one film, but this one is all about style. You see it happen, and you feel amazed by how it's happening, but all you get for the "why" is the simple bite of the beast.
I respect it as a classic, but I know it would've been better with a stronger focus on the mental breakdown of Talbot's personality as the beast slowly began to take over.
