Review of The Wizard (1989) by Keith O — 22 May 2009

I love the power glove. It's so bad.

If you grew up in the late 80s, early 90s you'll love this movie. It combines everything a kid likes: Nintendo, a theme park (Universal Studios Hollywood) and Fred Savage who was pretty popular at the time this movie came out.

Also, it was awesome that Super Mario Brothers 3 made it's debut in this movie. This movie was the first ANYONE heard of it. The Wizard came out a full year before SM3 was released.

Sure, it comes off as a 90 minute advertisement for Nintendo and Universal Studios, but it is still good. Don't come into this movie expecting to see Citizen Kane.

And be sure to Spot little Tobey Maguire in the movie.
