Review of The Wizard (1989) by Kim B — 13 Aug 2011
To be completely honest, I'd really love to give this movie a 100%. But that's not fair. You see, it is quite unbelievably, spectacularly horrible and cheesy. My completely-not-stalkery-I-swear feelings for Jenny Lewis, my rock idol/girl-crush aside, this is a fabulously dumb piece of work and it's practically entirely devoid of artistic quality. But man, is it a good time. As a girl who sold her soul to the Nintendo corporation at the age of eight, when Paper Mario was first released, this is one of my favorite "so-bad-it's-good" titles. I love this movie. It's so bad.
(And no, I don't mean bad like how Lucas uses it to describe how awesome the Power Glove was, I mean bad like how the Power Glove ACTUALLY was.).
