In "The Witness", Bill Genovese takes his viewers on his search to find out more information about the horrifying murder of his older sister, Kitty Genovese, 50 years ago. Before watching this film, I read news articles about the death of Kitty from around the time of her death, that all revealed that her murder led to what is now known as the "bystander effect." While all news sources agreed that what happened to Kitty was indeed the "bystander effect", they were not able to determine what's still really important; how many people actually saw this horrendous murder scene unfold? In this film, Bill takes us on his search to find out more about what happened when his sister died, and even goes as far as meeting with the son of his sister's murderer.

I liked this documentary because the cinematography was very effective in keeping me interested. Showing the viewer real characters with real locations of where real-life nightmares happened is quite intriguing, and is sure to keep many others interested.
