Review of The Witness (2015) by Josh P — 22 Jan 2017
Before watching The Witness, I had only heard about the Kitty Genovese murder a few times. I was not aware of all of the exaggerated stories that surrounded it, and was surprised to find out about how much of the murder was not told.
This documentary was the emotional struggle of a desperate brother to find out what really happened on the night of March 13, 1964. William "Bill" Genovese was relentless at finding out all of the details of his sister's murder.
There were a few parts of the documentary that brought me close to tears, and I am thankful that Bill was strong and curious enough to push through even when you could tell how much recreating the murder hurt him.
I hope that making this documentary not only helped him but the whole Genovese family.
