Review of The Witches (1990) by Raji K — 01 Mar 2015
The Witches, is a movie adaption of Roald Dahl's book Witches. Angelica Houston is perfectly cast as the Grand High Witch as she matches Quentin Blake's cover almost perfectly. The story is of a boy who uncovers a grand scheme the witches have to turn the boys of the world into mice using a potion known as formula 86.
The film covers the book pretty well, with the exception of the ending. The ending is one of the most endearing parts of the book, so the change of this at the end as well as the invention of a new assistant for the Grand Witch was quite unnecessary.
