The Witch is a powerfully atmospheric and hugely well-crafted horror thriller. While it might indulge in some themes that might put off certain audiences at the end, if they're able to get past that, they will find a film brimming with lessons on religious misuse, and the slowly crumbling paranoia of a family.
The Witch is immensely well-acted and the film's tone immediately draws you in. There are images that will linger in the audience's mind past the fade out. A wonderful debut for Robert Eggers, The Witch is a haunting delight.
