Review of The Witch (2016) by Zoltan T — 29 Dec 2017
A slow-burn horror that will disturb you to your core. A beautiful and haunting psychological terror-fest that will induce a healthy fear of both God and the Devil. Truly majestic and terrifying. The Witch is a work of horror that is breathtaking to behold.
It has incredible child performances and a dismal claustrophobic setting rich with the burden of guilt, self-hatred, religious oppression, denial, and fear. This is not a creature feature or a splatter-film - this is a heavy, dark, and thought-provoking film so grim it hurts.
