Review of The Witch (2016) by Posternutbag — 29 Feb 2016

I decided to go see this movie after seeing the rave reviews with some referring this as the next exorcist or shining. Not even close. Those movies were both scary and entertaining. I had to keep elbowing my wife as she kept falling asleep.

The opening scene was promising, after that I kept hoping for more but was utterly dissappointed throughout. Halfway through the move there was another small scene that offered some glittering hope and that was it.

The acting, backdrop, cinematography and costumes were great, but the story just wasn't there. After the credits rolled I heard some from the audience say "yes, thank god it's over".
