Eggers does a great job at setting up the scenes and transporting you back to the 1600's, the acting is wonderful, and the writing is truly authentic. However, that's where the praise ends. The movie itself was too slow, the dialogue was hard to understand and keep up with, and the ending leaves major questions unanswered.
