Review of The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006) by Eoin O — 24 Feb 2008
One of my new favorite movies. About two Irish brothers during the revolution during the 1920's, this film captures life in Ireland perfectly and unrelentingly. It's a shame it was never fully released in the US.
It's a tough watch, though. The accents are almost impossible to understand the first time. Still, given the right setting, this movie is outright amazing. Given a couple more viewings, might put in on my top ten ever.
