Review of The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006) by Aaron R — 24 Sep 2009
An excellent film that does a decent job summarizing history. Not surprisingly Loach blows the influence of socialism on the Anti-Treaty side way out of proportion in the film's narrative. However the drama and politics of the revolution and ensuing civil war make for a great story, and with acting talent and performances like those here, its a great film.
