Review of The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006) by Jean Paul M — 02 Jan 2011
Another fantastic movie by Ken Loach. Set in the revolutionary Ireland of the 20s,the movie brings you, amazingly in the atmosphere of this era. Everything is so intense, decisions have to be made, and the reactions and the dialogues are truly moving.
The bitter end is absolutely true,as were the conflicts, and so deep and meaningful. Stunning direction, and fine performances and astonishing Irish sceneries complete this beautiful Epitaph of the Irish Republican movement.
