Review of The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006) by Christopher T — 24 Jun 2011
Ken Loach is as reliable as night following day and this perspective on Republican resistance in Ireland in the early 20th century is another admirable addition to his canon of work. The subject matter is sensitively handled and Cilllian Murphy is outstanding as an aspiring doctor who turns his back on taking up a training post in London in favour of fighting the cause of the Republicans.
