Review of The Wind and the Lion (1975) by Josie B — 04 Apr 2013
If you are looking for a purely romantic movie, can shrug off some chauvinism (not take it too seriously) and have a historical bent, this is the movie for you!
Pop some popcorn, have some chocolate ready, invite over your girlfriends and have some tissues handy.
I love that the female lead is strong, that the male romantic lead is honorable and that Teddy Roosevelt is portrayed so well. The best TR ever in film, in my humble opinion.
Watch it, fall in love with it, then thank your lucky stars that women in our time and country don't have to put up with a lot of that chauvinistic BS (much) anymore.
