Review of The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill (2003) by Andrew S — 24 Jun 2008
This is a passable documentary about the odd phenomena of the wild parrots in San Francisco and the almost equally odd man who has a special relationship with them.
The cherry head parrots have interesting personalities, as does Mark Bittner, who seems to have been destined to be the parrot patron he became.
Although the movie (at least the print I saw) is fuzzy and grainy, the story is quite interesting and unusual.
Hardly the "not-to-be-missed" documentary claimed by some, Wild Parrots is still worth spending 80 or so minutes with.
Precise Knight Rating 6.3.
