Review of The Wild One (1953) by Connor G — 08 Jun 2012
Marlon Brando is just a man looking for a little respect in a group that just wants attention. No one respects him, and he fights all who don't. He was the first rebel without a cause. Not the best, but an admirable one.
It's difficult to like his character, but it's easy to appreciate him. Some of the censorship necessary in a 50s film felt a little forced, but some flowed naturally and helped the story. The unbelievable parts were how the bikers treated the girls.
