Review of The Wild One (1953) by Themumblelover . — 21 Aug 2015
Good choice for a lazy matinee viewing on a weekend. It feels like a western with bikes instead of horses, based on a simple story of a boy & girl drama. I always loved Brando, he seems to be breezing through the scenes, coasting and not working hard at all.
It probably was for the best, the understated & carefree performance suits the character. I think everyone can relate with a young man confused, unable to deal with feelings & expressing himself and failing.
My favorite scene was when his girl confronts him to be an emotional retard, and forgives him for it. Touching, nice date movie.
