A phenomenal beginning and then a not so great, far too bloody ending. Though you can see why this is a trendsetting movie for movies that came afterward. The slow motion action sequences got a bit tiring and 4 guys taking out 400+ was a bit much.

Still, an unbelievably awesome cast with William Holden leading a band of outlaws with Ernest Borgnine and Edmond O'Brien. Robert Ryan leads a hapless group of bounty hunters and knew Holden's group well and wants to catch them for a needed reward and to stay out of jail.

Holden's group plans a heist to get guns and sell them to the Mexican army but standing in their way is Ryan's group and the army themselves. A great action/western, though with flaws, still far ahead of its time.
