Review of The Wild Bunch (1969) by Robert H — 03 Feb 2009
Cool tale about men well past their prime. Played by real men actors not by Ken dolls that flood the films today.
Kids playing with the scorpion and ants shows is pretty scene. Showing how live is tough. Even for children. Today that scene would be consider verboten by the animal right fanatics.
Film was made during Vietnam war. At a time when movie were starting to show sexuality, language and violence more honestly. Today this film, would never be made or get slapped with NC-17. Thanks to political correctness and cult of child by the soccer moms. Indeed when re-released in '93. That's what exactly happened.
Well made film, after forty years it has stood. Violence and great acting come together.
