A superb cast is led by William Holden, Robert Ryan, and Ernest Borgnine. Peckinpah directs an ambitious film about the end of the Old West. Our likable outlaws are victims of not being able to adjust to the times, but man do we love watching these over the hill gunfighters try to do what they do best.
