The Greatest Western ever made? Absolutely. Not a single wasted moment I could find, nor could I favor one favorite performance out of the entire dream cast of grizzled character actors, although Robert Ryan comes closest as the eternally pained and guilt-ridden ex-'bunch' member forced to hunt his former partner & friend Holden.
Which makes the film's ending still the most moving part, with the best last line EVER.
