Review of The Wild Blue Yonder (2005) by Matti I — 24 Feb 2008
This is a experimental document movie from the german filmmaker Werner Herzog (or "scifi fantasy" as he himself calls it). Plot is about an alien who is sent to earth from his dying home planet which lies in our neighbour galaxy Andromeda. Movie is build up like a real documentation film. While the alien rambles to the camera about topics like Roswell incident, fails of mandkind and how his own race sucks, Herzog cuts in beautiful scenes from the Nasa archives and underwater documentation from Antarctica. There is also a few scenes which features real-life scientist who deliberate possibilities of space traveling.
I personally find the concept interesting and enjoyed this a quite bit. I recommend this to.
Herzog fans and people who want to experience something different. If you are, however, new.
To Herzog, you might want to start from some of his earlier works.
