Review of The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia (2009) by Jr M — 22 Oct 2011
I couldn't help but agree with the man early on in the film who asks why the Whites are being filmed instead of the boy from Boone County who made something of himself and went to MIT. However, my gut tells me that movie would have been far less entertaining.
Stereotypes of hillbillies abound in this documentary, but I just couldn't take my eyes off the Whites. Their story is funny, infuriating, depressing, and damn-near unforgettable.
