Review of The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia (2009) by Shane D — 18 Feb 2011
"I was born with nothin', and I'll probably die with nothin'. I'm just glad people know who the fuck we are." As am I.
It's rednecks gone wild as Jesco White and his backwoods clan of maniacs give their views on life, drugs, murder, sex, and tap dancing. I live in a town full of rednecks, but when compared to the Whites, the hicks in my town seem like sophisticated intellectuals. There are no drugs that are out of fashion with these people, and god help you if you piss them off, because they would have no qualms about stabbing you in the throat and dumping you in the mine. If there were ever a justifiable reason for the existence of rednecks, this here movin' picture is it.
