What a great movie! These kinds of movies are made with the Academy Awards in mind, and it truly works in this motion picture. Glenn Close and Jonathan Price are absolutely wonderful in this film. I cannot describe Close's performance, you could feel the tension and emotional struggle the character goes through even in scenes where there is no dialog, just by noticing the breathing and facial expressions, Close's acting was powerful.
The storyline is very interesting and magnetic, I love the fact that the story is not placed nowadays and its rather nicely set in the 90s. All in all, the story is fantastic and very interesting, the performances are captivating and The Wife is definitely a contender at the Academy Awards in 2019.
I am giving this movie 5/5 stars.
